By the early 2000s Iestyn Davies (the owner of the Contemporary Chandelier Company) had moved onto more sculptural glass forms – solid glass pieces created from assembling a number of hot glass gathers.

The glass fish and angels were developed from experimenting with this technique. They are made without any moulds, sculpted purely by hand with gold and silver leaf as part of their surface texture.

This freehand technique led to experimenting with other materials as a way of enhancing the display of glass sculpture.

We use hot glass sculpting techniques, laser cutting and CNC routing on acrylic and stainless steel together with state of the art LED lighting to design and produce a range of eclectic art work that can be installed in a variety of configurations and locations to enhance any interior.

LED lighting was a central consideration for this unique public work of art.

720 1 watt LEDs were bonded onto a central collar inside over 880 specially blown glass vessels.

Commissioned as part of the International Crystal Festival in Stourbridge, this one-of-a-kind sculpture has an integral air filter system to combat any condensation.

CCC Ltd were responsible for the overall design and overseeing the design, production and installation of the glass.

The angels are created by hand and involve 14 separate 'gathers', welded together and sculpted utilising processes that took more than 8 years to perfect.

Each angel retains a bespoke status, as each and every one are different.

They can be purchased separately or, as shown on these slides, used in conjunction with stainless steel and light to create sculptural and contemporary focus.

The specially textured stainless steel panel creates the impression of water in movement especially when colour-changing lighting is applied. The texture also reacts beautifully with natural light.

Textured acrylic surface photographed outside in rain. Although the actual thickness of the acrylic is only 20 mm, the light catches on the detail and creates the illusion of a much thicker material.

The matching panels have been made so that the client can control both the upper and lower lighting independently. These can be paused, dimmed and set on colour change or white using two hand-held RF controllers.
