Latticello 6

Gallery 6

Inspired by an ancient Italian technique that utilise coloured glass cane: ‘Latticello’ refers to any glass piece created using these canes. In this case pure opaque white glass is covered in clear glass, reheated, then pulled into a long section of glass cane, which is then cut into smaller pieces. These are then reheated again and adhered to the outer surface of a body of clear hot glass, then twisted to form the intricate pattern.
